Michael Jary


Michael Jary was one of the founding team of OC&C Strategy Consultants in 1987. This year marks his 30th year in consulting.

Michael served as the Worldwide Managing Partner of OC&C from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that he had been the Managing Partner of OC&C’s UK office and the leader of the worldwide retail practice, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. 

One of the original founders of OC&C’s global presence in retail and consumer branded businesses, Michael's professional interest continues in these areas, where he works with the boards of major corporations in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He is a regular speaker and commentator in the retail sector and a guest lecturer in marketing at INSEAD.

Outside of OC&C, Michael is involved in several company boards and charities. He is chair of the board of trustees at Fairtrade, working for better prices and sustainability for farmers in the global South.  He is chair of the commercial committee at The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation, and chair of Duchy Originals, the largest organic food brand in the UK. And he is chair of Itad, the leading advisory firm in international development.  Between 2009 and 2015 he was a non-executive director of Nationwide, the UK’s largest savings brand and a top three consumer lender.
